On February 10, 2017, INSPIRING Pakistan held a well-attended meeting of civil society organizations, trade unions and NGOs to present the findings of its research report on the Islamabad Local Government system. The meeting was held to not only present the findings, but also devise a follow-up advocacy plan to help achieve the changes identified by the research report. It was decided at the meeting to hold follow-up meetings with national parliamentarians, relevant federal government officials, Islamabad Mayors, Deputy Mayors, UC Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons and political parties to share the research findings and advocate for relevant changes. The possibility of linking with district bar councils and using the offices of Ombudspersons was also discussed.
